Sexual images have existed since prehistoric men and women painted on cave walls, extending through to Greek and Roman period which began the mass production of objects like painted pottery and oil lamps molded with 3-D sexual images. Have these historically continuous, explicit images made us a species of sex criminals, or have they liberated us from having to cover females from head to toe, offering an alternative, civilized, cathartic experience in place of brutal unwanted action?
