Writer's

Fiction - Solomon's Refuge is no longer accepting fiction submissions. The market at this time doesn't allow us to pay writers, so we'd rather not exploit the hard work they put into literate erotica. Non Fiction - Solomon's Refuge is meant to become refuge for well reasoned alternatives to the currently fashionable "just say no to anything sexual or erotic" philosophy--a commonly agreed upon lie that seeks to link sexual ignorance with high moral values. This has never worked before to produce a just and moral society and it's not working now. Tell us why, give us some well-reasoned arguments in favor of alternative views, and we'll publish you. Or tell us why "just say no" works, and if you can convince us you're right, we'll publish that as well. Pornographic imagery is as old as the oldest human art. It's painted on cave walls and carved into stone for a reason. We would especially like to see articles about ancient art with erotic themes. We'd like to publish more on this theme; an example is found in the article Ancient Erotic Images from Pompeii and Herculaneum. Format - All submissions must be in straight text pasted into the body of an email. If you like to be frustrated and pass that frustration along to editors who will probably not take kindly to the idea of fixing your bungled text, you may use ms Word and save as text. Be aware that his will probably produce a ton of unwanted garbage characters. Why not get yourself a good text editor, a small investment that'll endear you to overworked editors? We use TextPad. For 27 bucks you'll get a fast text processor that also does HTML and other coding, and has free downloadable dictionaries in many languages as well as a medical dictionary for the gynecological inclined. |

Ok, you've heard this before: It's hard to "monetize" real content on the web. Well, it is--especially if you don't want a bunch of porn ads circling your page and crashing your browser. That's why we're not accepting fiction submissions at this time. Check back in a few months, especially if market conditions (or my own fortunes) change in a more or less positive direction. If you write on the topic of the social implications of pornography, and wish to find a home on the web for your work, we'd like to hear from you. We will also link to sites with this type of content. Inquiries may be made to editor@solomonsrefuge.com |
